2024 - 2025 Maryland Wrestling Rankings (Archives Edition)
Our second year at Legacy Wrestling was so exciting. We added rankings for the Maryland High School Girls along with rankings for Washington D.C. high school teams and boys. The season was capped off by some amazing end of season wins. South Carroll jolted ahead to stand squarely atop the public schools in the state. The end of the private school season had lots of action. Gilman tied with Archbishop Spalding at the Maryland Independent State Championships and The McDonogh School upset Spalding in a head-to-head dual in the final weeks of the season.
Tyler Verceles was the only freshman at the top of the Maryland rankings, while Zane Messiter sat top the D.C. Rankings, and Summer Mutschler and Katherine Virgilio where the two top-ranked female wrestlers in the State! Our Sophomore class was as strong as we have ever seen it with Liam McGettigan, Eli Gabrielson, Noah Tucker, and Salah Tsarni in Maryland along with Kayode Elion and Sven Kramer in D.C. and Madison Birth, Rileigh Romberger, and Taina Fernandez representing our top female wrestlers. Rounding out our retuning class was a strong group of Juniors that are ready to return as our seniors, all of which have one more year to prove they are still the champs to chase. Congratulations to our Maryland top ranked juniors including Zane Leitzel and Victor Marks-Jenkins, along with our top D.C. juniors Morgan Lloyd, Jet Ward, Bojan Sulc, Caleb Davis, and Randal Ayaba. Our top returning female juniors were Reagan Ramadan and Sonia Pegoue.
Last but not least, good luck to our top ranked seniors!
