RESULTS: MSWA Queen Anne's - Ladies First!

The Ladies had a low turnout at Queen Anne’s County High School for the final qualifier of the Maryland State Wrestling Association’s Freestyle and Greco Roman State Series that culminates with the state tournament at Mount Saint Joseph on May 16th.

On Sunday, May 3rd, there were just two contested weights amongst the girls with the other entrants being crowned champions just by showing up.

Both weights with action on the mat took place in the 19U slate with each coming on round robin victories as Triniti Green (Unattached) stuck Beat the Streets DC’s Kayla Buchanan 45 seconds into their 130/135-pound bout.

BTS DC gained a champ when Sonia Pegoue received a medical forfeit from her club mate at BTS, Maya Williams. Both grapplers defeated another BTS Lady, Arla Colak in their round robin action.

The Headhunters’ Jahzara Smith was given the 100-pound 19U FS gold as the lone contestant as was Amirah Abegesah (Unattached) at 19U 170 pounds and Miley Sapir (Capital Wrestling Club) at 135 pounds in the 16U field.
