The headline: McDonogh has the best dual meet wrestling team in Maryland. After back-to-back dual meet wins against Archbishop Spalding - this is question has now been repeatedly answered - they have the best dual meet team. So why is Spalding #1? Archbishop Spalding beat McDonogh in their last team tournament matchup (Ray Oliver) and we believe they still have the edge for tournament points. The private school state championship is decided by team score and with War on the Shore this weekend, we will see if Spalding can retain the top spot as they compete against South Carroll, MSJ, and Loyola. McDonogh also has a head-to-head meet against MSJ next week. This is close and the results over the next 6 days could shake up the top five again.
