Happy Thanksgiving! We are thankful for our family, friends, turkey, wrestling, and pre-season rankings. That's right, Legacy Wrestling’s Maryland high‑school pre‑season rankings went live today and include every boys’ and girls’ weight class. Below is a summary of the top‑ranked wrestler in each weight class and their grade (Sr = senior, J = junior, So = sophomore):

Taina Fernandez (Archbishop Spalding) stands out for holding the top spot at 138 lbs as a junior.

Taina Fernandez
A special shout‑out goes to Taina Fernandez, who is ranked #1 in both the boys’ 138‑lb weight class and the girls’ 135‑lb weight class. She is a national and world champion and is the first person to claim the top spot on both the girls and boys rankings lists.
We are grateful for the wrestlers, coaches and families who make our sport thrive. Furthermore, thank you to the entire community that sends us updates, line-ups, and feedback throughout the season. Without your help creating these rankings would not be possible. We encourage all wrestlers to use these pre‑season rankings as motivation. The season is long, and there will be plenty of opportunities to climb the ladder and prove yourselves.
