BRAND NEW MD RANKINGS, TOO!

2 min read

To celebrate the merger with High School on Si we felt it was appropriate to roll out the first draft of the Maryland Preseason rankings alsongside the announcement and debut of our national rankings.

The Boys and Girls rankings in Maryland are limited to 15 entries as of now and will not expand much farther.

One of the things we discussed was making the local rankings more exclusive. It is the middle ground from the way Haswell M. Franklin and Luke Broadwater operated with a top six, plus honorable mentions, and I was doing recently (top 25).

We also plan to release a report with each update akin to what we will do with the national rankings. This will allow there to be old versions of the Maryland rankings that can be looked back on as the season evolves.

A lot of guesswork went into these. More so with the girls than the boys, who tend to be out and about nationally a bit more than their female counterparts.

Some of the weights are from the summer, some more recent. We were also trying to figure out lineups without tipping our hand that we were back for more local action.

Now that the framework is set, let's dial it in. Let us know who needs moved and to where.

We wanted to include the Maryland Girls in this rollout, but time was not our friend, so we were not able to finish all 14 weights. The first seven (100-130 pounds) are live on the site.

Over the course of the weekend, the rest of the ladies' weight classes will go up. There is no time frame specifically, but by Sunday night, all girls weights will be filled in.

We will get to Washington D. C. when the season arrives. We didn't forget you.

Best of luck this year and enjoy.
